My Little Piece of the Internet
is currently, and probably always will be, under construction!

WARNING!

This is a non-flashing, non-blinking, won't jump out and bite you homepage.  Except for a couple of animated gifs and the jpg files in my photo album, this is a no-nonsense web site.  This is just my opinion, but I've seen some pages out there that have so much animated junk in them that it's almost impossible to find where I'm going!  Words blink or scroll across the page, colors flash all along the borders, little animals run along the bottom, advertisement banners blare from every corner; where does it end?

So if you are looking for a hi-tech, acid trip site, then please move on.  But if you are looking for something that won't tax your nerves and burn out your eyes, then please stay and look around.  You are always welcome to cool yourself off at my web site!

UPDATES

12 January 2008

Hmmmm, I am trying to figure out how so much time has gone by since my last update!  A lot has happened, and yet it feels like I am still where I was three and a half years ago.  I have a new Townhouse in Reston, VA that I moved into in December 2006, so I've had a year to settle in but I am still unpacking.  I'm single again, but that is a story that doesn't belong on here!  I'm no longer traveling since I took an entry level Project Management position, but I still manage the team that travels so I live vicariously through them!  If anyone is stopping by here looking to catch up on old times, you are better off to check out my MySpace page at myspace.com/aricalbone which is much easier to keep updated than a personal website.  What, you don't have a MySpace page?  Even my Grandmother has her own page!

18 June 2004

Wow, the time just keeps flying by!  Well, I have a new job, a new apartment, a new cat, and now a new place to host my website so I am finally able to get back in and update a few things.  I now have more storage room for photos so look for more additions to my photo album along with new scans of old pictures that will be of much better quality.

12 September 2003

I just returned from a two month business trip to the Middle East.  Out of the four countries I worked in, Jordan made the biggest impression.  Of the several Muslim countries I have been to in the last couple years, Jordan is my favorite and the one country I would like to visit again with my wife.  The people are very friendly and welcoming and Jordan is rich in cultural and Historical sites.  Out of all the tourist attractions I have ever visited, Jordan contains one of the most wondrous...Petra.  For those of you who don't know what Petra is, just as I didn't, you only have to remember the third Indiana Jones movie: The Last Crusade.  This is where Indiana Jones is searching with his Father for the Holy Grail.  In the end of the movie, they trek through the desert and come upon a cavernous entrance through the side of a cliff.  After walking through the cavern, it opens up to reveal a large, ancient structure carved out of pink sandstone.  This is the entrance to Petra and this structure is actually a tomb known as the "treasury".  I was able to take a number of pictures and have them posted in my Photo Album.  Take a look and tell me that this isn't a sight to behold.

I finally picked up a scanner a couple of months ago and I've started to scan in my photos of the Taj Mahal and hope to have them online soon.  I have also started an online museum of some of the things I have collected over the years, especially since my family and friends never come down to visit - it's no fun collecting if I no one ever gets to see this stuff!  My museum pages are still in the works, but you can get to them by using the Museum link at the bottom.  Hopefully by the end of the summer I will have everything online.
